Myrtle Beach Vacation

In July Doug and I went on vacation to Myrtle Beach.  We had 9 wonderful days in the sun.  We went to Myrtle Beach in 2006 for the first time and fell in love with every aspect of it and vowed to go there every year for vacation.  Last year we decided to go to San Antonio since Doug’s brother was stationed there and neither of us had ever been to Texas and thought we would visit Dave and Texas at the same time.  We are thankful we did that because he will be moving from Texas in the coming year.  But back to Myrtle Beach this year and it was great in so many ways.  First of all it was Myrtle……..glorious Myrtle!  Second, it was our first vacation alone……all other vacations we were accompanied by Doug’s son which was fine, but it was time for a vacation alone after being together over 4 years.  Third, we never had a honeymoon so this was the honeymoon we never had.  Fourth, instead of driving the 11 hours like we did the first time, we flew this time and were in the air a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes!  We will NEVER drive it again!  LOL

So we had a great week together spending time at the ocean at various beaches walking and swimming and collecting shells, visiting various attractions, eating great food including of course great seafood (3 buffets I think? LOL), and lots of other things.  I finally got all the pictures posted and to view the pictures you can check out these links.  When you get to the link, click on the first picture which will take you to the picture in a larger view, then you can click on NEXT at the upper right of the picture to move to the next picture in the album:

  1. Bonnie,

I was gladdened by the fact that you and Doug are so enthusiastic about your vacations in Myrtle Beach. Like you, we came to Myrtle Beach about 5 years ago and fell in love with the place and decided to stay. We now own two family run motels oceanfront. Should you return again in 2009, perhaps you will consider staying with us at the Summer Wind or the Gazebo Inn These are no frills, but clean and in great shape on the beach, with more personalized service at reasonable rates, and on the nicer south end of Myrtle near the Myrtle Beach State Park and The Market Common. We look forward to seeing the same guests year after year. Keep up your blog! Hope to meet you and Doug in the future!
