Free Beaded Banner Instructions

June 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Have you ever thought about making beaded banners but didn’t know how?  Did you buy a kit and couldn’t figure out the instructions?

Beaded Banners by Bonnie has the solution for you!  I have just posted my own version of Beaded Banner Instructions.

I admit they probably aren’t perfect.  When I made my first banner in 2005 from a kit I was given as a gift I struggled a bit trying to figure out what the instructions were telling me.  I finally figured it out and I was zooming through the rest of the banner.  With the second banner I made I struggled a little with the first few rows again but it came back to me pretty quick.  By the third banner I was flying through it and by the next few banners I was doing my own thing and saying “forget it” to taping the rod to the pattern and pulled out a clipboard and binder clips (much easier!).  Now that I have made over 200 banners I have my own setup with a drawing board as my base with containers for beads and thread and even a clip on lamp hooked to it so my old eyes can see what I am doing!

What I have done with my instructions is try to stick to the basics that you find in most other instructions, but I have provided my own ways to do some things, such as the binder clips and tying off thread.  You may find ways that work better for you once you have mastered the basics.

Starting out the banner is the hardest part but it doesn’t have to be.  With my instructions, complete with pictures of a banner of mine in progress, you will see exactly how to thread on the first two rows and put the rod through to separate the rows.  You will see pictures of how to finish a row and go to the next row.  It explains how to tie off thread and what to do with the ends.  I never use glue…………ever…………and I have never had a banner fall apart, even the ones that have been outside in the weather for 2 or more years.

Like I said my instructions aren’t perfect, but I have been told by some of my customers that they are much easier to understand than anything they have tried to interpret previously.

They are free.  All you have to do is download them.  Here is the link:
